Who is a Host?

Understanding the Host role on Zora Social #

On Zora Social, the Host role is designed for users who are not just participating, but actively creating opportunities, conversations, and spaces that support community building. Hosts play a central part in shaping the local and cultural experiences shared across the platform.

This article explains who a Host is, what they can do, and how this role fits into Zora’s broader ecosystem.

What is the Host Role? #

A Host is a trusted and empowered user who creates, curates, and facilitates activity on Zora Social. Unlike general users who simply engage with content, Hosts are encouraged to lead — whether by running Communities, organising events, offering courses, or posting relevant opportunities.

They are builders of trust, connectors of people, and often bridge the gap between digital engagement and real-world impact.

Who Can Become a Host? #

Anyone on Zora can apply to become a Host, but approval is merit-based and aligned with community values. You may be eligible if you:

  • Have a consistent record of respectful and meaningful engagement on the platform

  • Represent an initiative, organisation, or cultural group with a real presence

  • Want to organise activities, share knowledge, or bring people together

  • Are prepared to follow our hosting standards and code of conduct

Hosts do not need to be influencers or professionals — they just need to be reliable, community-focused, and proactive.

What Can Hosts Do? #

Becoming a Host unlocks a set of enhanced capabilities, including:

  • Creating and managing Communities with visibility and structure

  • Posting events, courses, and classifieds more frequently and with extended reach

  • Access to Host-specific insights, tools, and platform features

  • Participation in Host-only briefings and early product testing

  • The ability to apply for Verified Community status (if applicable)

Hosts may also be featured in Zora-led promotions and newsletters to help amplify their work.

Host Visibility and Badge #

Approved Hosts receive a unique Host badge displayed on their profile and content. This helps other users identify them as reliable points of contact and content originators.

Their contributions may also be prioritised in group feeds or public listings where relevance and engagement are key.

Host Conduct and Responsibilities #

While Hosts enjoy greater freedom and visibility, they are also held to higher standards. Hosts are expected to:

  • Uphold Zora’s values, including respect, inclusion, and integrity

  • Avoid misusing their position for spam, misinformation, or harassment

  • Be responsive to users they engage with or events they organise

  • Comply with all platform policies and moderation guidance

Failure to meet these expectations may lead to loss of Host status.

How to Become a Host #

To apply or express interest in becoming a Host:

  1. Visit your Dashboard and click on the Host Application tab (if visible).

  2. Fill out the application form, sharing your motivations and relevant links.

  3. Wait for confirmation from the Zora team. You may be contacted for additional information or onboarding.

We review Host applications regularly and prioritise those who demonstrate alignment with Zora’s community-first mission.
