Your user role defines what actions you can take on Zora. Roles are flexible — some people may have just one, others may hold multiple depending on how they engage.
Here are the main roles on Zora:
Participant #
This is the default role for most users. Participants can:

Premium User #
Premium Users pay a small monthly subscription (currently £3/month) which supports the platform and unlocks added features:

Premium status is marked with a subtle star badge on your profile.
Host #
Hosts are trusted individuals or communities who:

Moderator #
Moderators help keep Zora safe and respectful. They:

Moderators are nominated based on trust and active community presence.
Administrator #
Admins oversee platform-wide management. They:

Content Creator #
Content Creators are approved users who contribute regular, high-quality content to the platform. They may write blogs, start conversations, or lead series under themes like migration, wellness, or culture.
Partner Community #
This badge identifies organisations, community groups, or businesses officially connected to Zora. These may include charities, housing support groups, or diaspora-led collectives.
Contributor #
Contributors are members who help shape Zora by:

Verified User #
Verified Users have confirmed their identity or organisation to build trust. Verification is available by request and mostly applies to:

How to get a new role or badge #
Some roles are assigned automatically based on actions, while others are granted by the Zora team or through nomination.
To request a new role (e.g. to become a Host, Content Creator, or Verified User), email support@zorasocial.uk or message an Administrator directly.
