Posting and Responding to Classifieds

Whether you are looking to sell a sofa, offer tutoring, find a flatmate, or share a local resource, here’s how to get started.

Who can post in Classifieds? #

Posting in the Classifieds section is available to:

• Premium Users

• Verified Communities

This helps reduce spam and makes sure posts are genuine and relevant.

If you’re not Premium yet, you can upgrade via your profile settings by selecting Go Premium.

How to post a Classified #

1. Go to the Classifieds section

   • Click or tap on Classifieds from the main menu

   • Select Create Classified or Post New Listing

2. Choose a category

   • Some common categories include:

     • Items for Sale or Donation

     • Services Offered

     • Housing (Room Wanted / Room Available)

     • Local Opportunities

     • Community Support

3. Add your listing details
   You will be prompted to fill out:

   • Title – Short and descriptive

   • Description – Clear information about what’s being offered or sought

   • Photos – Optional, but encouraged for visibility

   • Location – Town or area (no exact addresses please)

   • Contact Method – You can choose replies via Zora inbox or email

   • Price – If applicable (you may also write “free” or “pay what you can”)

4. Choose your audience

   • Public: Visible to all Zora users

   • Community-only: Visible only to your connected groups or followers

5. Submit your listing

   • Your post will go live once reviewed and approved, usually within 24 hours.

How to respond to a Classified #

1. Browse or search the Classifieds

   • Use filters or keywords to find what you’re looking for.

2. Click on a listing for more details

   • Read the full description, check the location, and review the contact method.

3. Reply directly

   • Click Send Message to contact the poster via Zora inbox, or use the listed email if provided.

4. Follow up respectfully

   • Be clear and kind in your enquiry. If you are no longer interested, let the other person know.

Safety tips for using Classifieds #

• Always meet in public places for exchanges

• Do not share sensitive personal information

• Be cautious of offers that seem too good to be true

• Report suspicious posts or behaviour immediately using the Report button

• Zora does not mediate or guarantee transactions — use your judgement
