Events on Zora are a key way to bring people together — locally or virtually — around shared interests, causes, celebrations or learning opportunities. Whether you are planning a meetup, organising a cultural gathering, promoting a seminar, or just inviting neighbours for a small get-together, Zora provides tools to help you list, share and manage your events within the community.
What is an Event on Zora? #
An event is a time-bound activity or occasion that you can promote directly to the Zora community. Each event listing includes:
-
Event name and description
-
Date and time
-
Location (physical or online)
-
Host or organiser details
-
Option to RSVP or indicate interest
-
Visibility settings (public, friends only, or members of a Circle)
Events are discoverable through the Activity Feed, the Events tab, your profile, and Circles (if linked to one).
Who Can Create Events? #
Anyone with a Zora account can create events. You do not need to be a Premium User, but upgrading unlocks advanced promotional tools and visibility boosts. Events can be hosted by:
-
Individuals
-
Circles (e.g. organisations, community groups)
-
Verified Members or Community Reps
-
Hosts and Premium Users
If you’re creating an event on behalf of a Community, ensure you are listed as an admin or Community Rep for that page.
Best Practices for Event Listings #
To make your event clear, attractive and well-attended:
-
Choose a clear and engaging event name
-
Write a detailed yet concise description
-
Add an image or flyer to increase visual appeal
-
Include all relevant timing, access and location information
-
Indicate who the event is for — open to all, specific communities, age limits etc.
-
Set RSVP deadlines if needed
-
Keep the tone welcoming and inclusive
Managing RSVPs and Attendance #
Once your event is live, you can track interest through RSVPs. Attendees may receive automated reminders closer to the event date. You can also post updates or changes on the event page, and message confirmed guests if necessary.
Safety and Event Guidelines #
We encourage in-person events to prioritise safety, accessibility and inclusivity. Zora does not formally vet or insure user-hosted events, so organisers are responsible for:
-
Complying with local laws and venue regulations
-
Ensuring any age or access requirements are stated clearly
-
Creating safe, respectful spaces for attendees
-
Reporting any incidents that occur during the event through our platform
Online events should follow similar standards — using trusted platforms, sharing links securely, and moderating respectfully.
Promoting Your Event #
To increase visibility:
-
Share your event on your Activity Feed
-
Use hashtags relevant to your audience
-
Invite members of your Circles
-
Encourage others to repost or tag friends
-
Upgrade to Premium for highlighted listings (optional)
