Who is a Community Rep?

Representing an Organisation or Community Page on Zora #

A Community Rep is a user who has been officially assigned as a representative or administrator of a Community on Zora — such as a business, organisation, support group, or interest-based network. This role is essential for maintaining an active, trustworthy presence on behalf of a Community page.

This article outlines what a Community Rep is, their responsibilities, how the role is assigned, and how it differs from other user types on Zora.

What is a Community Rep? #

Community Reps act on behalf of an organisation or group that has a Community page on Zora. This might be a charity, cultural association, small business, student group, or any recognised entity with a presence on the platform.

Their role is to:

  • Manage the Community’s page content and visibility

  • Respond to user engagement such as messages or comments

  • Post updates, events, job listings, or classified offers under the Community’s name

  • Represent the Community in interactions across Zora

They are the public-facing presence of the Community on the platform.

What Can a Community Rep Do? #

Community Reps have access to additional tools and privileges that allow them to:

  • Edit the Community page’s bio, photo, and banner

  • Post content as the Community (not just as themselves)

  • Moderate discussions or comments made under the Community’s content

  • Invite or approve other Reps to join the management team

  • View performance metrics and post reach (for verified Communities)

  • Access support or promotional tools provided by Zora

This makes them key players in helping the Community stay active, relevant, and visible.

How Does Someone Become a Community Rep? #

To become a Community Rep, you must be:

  • Approved by the user who originally created the Community page

  • Invited through the page’s settings and confirmed via your Zora account

  • Assigned the role by Zora’s support team, if needed for support or legacy accounts

Only verified users may act as official Community Reps. A single Community may have multiple Reps, depending on its size and needs.

Responsibilities and Expectations #

While Community Reps do not represent Zora itself, they are expected to:

  • Accurately represent their organisation’s voice and mission

  • Stay within Zora’s community guidelines and platform rules

  • Avoid misinformation, spam, or promotional misuse

  • Respect member privacy, especially when interacting via messages

If a Community Rep violates platform rules, Zora may remove or suspend their privileges.

Identifying a Community Rep #

Community Reps are clearly marked with a Rep badge when posting or interacting as their organisation. They can also toggle between their personal account and Community page dashboard.
