Creating a Community

2 min read

On Zora, Communities are dedicated spaces for organisations, initiatives, or projects that exist to support, uplift, or serve others β€” not sell to them. Whether you’re a local support group, cultural organisation, educational hub, or social enterprise, creating a Community page helps you connect meaningfully with members who care.

This guide walks you through how to create a Community on Zora.

What is a Community on Zora? #

AΒ CommunityΒ is a profile space for organisations, collectives, or groups aligned with Zora’s values of inclusion, support, and lived experience. These are not businesses trying to push products β€” they areΒ communities with a purpose.

Your Community page can:

  • Share updates, news, or events

  • Post job or volunteer opportunities

  • Highlight your mission, work, and story

  • Connect directly with Zora users in a meaningful way

Who can create a Community? #

To create a Community, you must:

  • Have a verified Zora account

  • Be an official representative or team member of the organisation

  • Be ready to engage with users respectfully and in line with Zora’s Community Guidelines

How to create your Community #

  1. Sign in to your accountΒ atΒ zorasocial.uk

  2. Go to theΒ CommunitiesΒ section via the main menu

  3. ClickΒ Create a Community

  4. Fill in the required information:

    • Name of your organisation

    • Community description (who you are and what you stand for)

    • Location and area of focus

    • Website or contact details (optional)

    • Logo or image that represents you

  5. Choose whether your page will accept messages or job listings

  6. Submit your page for review

What happens after submission? #

Your submission is reviewed by the Zora moderation team. This usually takesΒ 24 to 48 hours. You will be notified once your Community is approved and published.

Tips for a strong Community presence #

  • Be clear about your mission and who you support

  • Post regularly to keep your space active

  • Respond to comments and questions kindly

  • Follow Zora’s policies on respectful engagement

  • Use your platform to uplift, not just inform

Need help? #

If you experience issues while creating a Community, or your page is rejected, reach out to our support team atΒ support@zorasocial.ukΒ or use theΒ HelpΒ button in the app.

Zora is home to Communities that give more than they take. Yours could be one of them.
