Community Guidelines
Last Updated: April 07, 2025
Welcome to Zora Social! Our mission is to connect people, foster meaningful interactions, and build a vibrant online community. To ensure that everyone feels safe, respected, and valued, we’ve established these Community Guidelines. They apply to all users and all content shared on our platform, including posts, comments, messages, group activity, and profiles.
By using Zora Social, you agree to follow these guidelines. Failure to comply may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent banning, depending on the severity of the violation. Let’s work together to make Zora Social a positive space for all!
1. Respect Everyone
Zora Social thrives on diversity and mutual respect. Treat others as you’d like to be treated.
- Be Kind: Engage in constructive, respectful dialogue. Disagreements are fine, but personal attacks, insults, or derogatory language are not.
- No Hate Speech: We prohibit content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.
- No Harassment: Do not bully, stalk, intimidate, or repeatedly target individuals. This includes unwanted messages, threats, or sharing someone’s private information (doxxing).
2. Keep It Safe and Legal
We’re committed to maintaining a secure environment that complies with the law.
- No Illegal Activity: Do not post content that encourages or depicts illegal acts, such as drug trafficking, theft, or violence.
- No Harmful Content: Avoid sharing material that promotes self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, or graphic violence. If you’re struggling, please seek help from a professional or trusted resource.
- Age Restrictions: Zora Social is for users 18 and older. Do not create accounts if you’re under 18, and do not impersonate someone else to bypass this rule.
3. Share Responsibly
Your contributions shape our community. Post thoughtfully and authentically.
- Original Content: Share your own work or properly credit others. Plagiarism, copyright infringement, or posting content without permission is not allowed.
- No Spam: Avoid repetitive posts, unsolicited advertisements, or irrelevant links. This includes chain messages, pyramid schemes, or excessive self-promotion.
- Accuracy Matters: While we encourage free expression, do not spread misinformation that could cause harm (e.g., false medical advice or dangerous conspiracy theories). We may remove such content if it violates this guideline.
4. Respect Privacy
Privacy is a cornerstone of trust on Zora Social.
- Personal Information: Do not share anyone’s private details (e.g., phone numbers, addresses, or financial data) without their explicit consent.
- Private Messages: Keep private conversations private. Sharing screenshots or logs of private messages without permission is prohibited.
- Profile Integrity: Do not impersonate others or create fake accounts to deceive users.
5. Keep It Appropriate
We aim for a community that’s welcoming to all, so please avoid explicit or offensive content.
- No Nudity or Pornography: Do not post sexually explicit images, videos, or text, including suggestive content that crosses the line into adult material.
- Moderate Language: Swearing is okay in moderation, but excessive profanity or offensive slurs will be removed.
- Context Matters: Humor and creativity are welcome, but content that’s excessively gory, shocking, or disturbing may be taken down.
6. Engage in Groups Thoughtfully
Groups are a key part of Zora Social. Follow these rules to keep them enjoyable:
- Stay On Topic: Respect the purpose of each group and avoid derailing discussions with unrelated content.
- Follow Group Rules: Many groups have their own specific guidelines set by moderators. Adhere to them in addition to these Community Guidelines.
- No Trolling: Deliberately provoking or disrupting group harmony is not tolerated.
7. Reporting Violations
We rely on our community to help us maintain these standards.
- How to Report: If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines, use the “Report” button next to the post, comment, or profile. Alternatively, email us at support@zorasocials.world with details.
- What Happens Next: Our moderation team will review reports promptly and take action if necessary. We may remove content, issue warnings, or suspend accounts. We’ll notify you of the outcome if you request follow-up.
8. Consequences of Violations
We take breaches of these guidelines seriously. Here’s how we handle them:
- First Offense: A warning and removal of the offending content (if applicable).
- Repeated Offenses: Temporary suspension of your account (e.g., 7 days).
- Severe Violations: Immediate permanent ban (e.g., for hate speech, threats, or illegal activity).
- Appeals: If you believe we made a mistake, email us at support@zorasocials.world within 14 days of the action with your explanation. We’ll review and respond.
9. Our Role as Moderators
Zora Social’s team reserves the right to:
- Remove any content that violates these guidelines or harms the community.
- Update these guidelines as needed to reflect evolving standards or legal requirements.
- Exercise discretion in edge cases to ensure fairness and safety.
We do not monitor every post in real-time, so we depend on your reports to catch issues quickly.
